This is an extremely rare opportunity to be a part of the inaugural Ritz-Carlton, Melbourne opening team. We're seeking a motivated & experienced Head Sommelier who is passionate about wine and beverage lists, give incredible customer service and want to work in an elegant, fast pace and elevated venue.

The head Sommelier is a visible, energetic, and ethical leader who develops, maintains, and promotes a style that culminates in guest satisfaction and employee engagement, while consistently achieving annual and long term financial and strategic plans.

**CANDIDATE PROFILE**

**Education and Experience**
- 2-year degree from an accredited university in Food Service Management, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major; 2 years’ experience in the food and beverage, culinary, or related professional area.
- Have a minimum of 4 years’ experience in a Fine Dining Restaurant.
- Extensive knowledge of international wines, spirits, and beers.
- Have an articulated knowledge of wine service and etiquette.
- WSET Level 2 as a minimum and or CMS Certified.
- Must have a Victorian RSA certificate & full Australian working right.

- Responds quickly and proactively to guest's concerns.

- Sets service expectations for all guests internally and externally.
- Takes ownership of a guest complaint/problem until it is resolved, or it has been addressed by the appropriate manager or employee.
- Follows up to ensure complaints have been addressed to the guest's satisfaction.
- Develops a relationship with all guests to build repeated clientele internally and externally.
