Mad About Cakes is a boutique bakery specialising in dietary requirement custom cakes and desserts for weddings, private and corporate events. Everything we create is hand made and custom designed with each clients unique style and event theme in mind.

We are looking for an energetic and passionate decorator to join our team. They will be working with the Mad About Cakes team in a commercial kitchen and studio space baking a range of cakes and desserts from scratch.

We strive to create delicious, unique and one of a kind designs. Applicants need to be creative, passionate about baking and design, eager to learn new skills and confident to share exisiting skills and knowledge.

General working hours: Range between Monday - Sunday 9-5pm.

Responsibilities and tasks could range from:

- Filling, maskings and decorating cakes and desserts
- Working with buttercream, ganache and fondant
- Piping cakes and desserts
- Creating cake decorations such meringues, chocolate waves, macarons
- Making cake fillings such as custards and curds
- Cleaning of all utensils, equipment and kitchen areas
- Stock management, rotation and storage
- Packaging of cakes and desserts

Minimum requirements:

- MUST HAVE CAKE DECORATING EXPERIENCE
- Fluent in English,
- Positive attitude, works well with others,
- Timely, clean and presentable
- Excited to learn and keen to share
- No exisiting injuries that will prevent applicant from standing during normal working day or lifting heavy items when needed (e.g moving an 8kg wedding cake from fridge to table)

Expected hours: 8 - 24 per week
