**Your new company**

This high-profile Federal Government Authority responsible for ensuring Canberra and the Territory is planned and developed in accordance with their National significance through a National Plan is seeking an EL1 Governance Manager to join their Governance and Legal Services team due to upcoming changes in the team.

**Your new role**

You will support the team with a variety of core components under the direction of General Counsel. Your duties will include but are not limited to:

- Perform functions of the secretariat for the Authority including preparing the annual meeting schedule, meeting agendas, collation of draft papers for meetings, preparation of minutes and action items, and any out of session or exceptional meetings.
- Perform the functions of the secretariat for each of the Audit and Risk Committee, including preparing the annual meeting schedule, meeting agendas, collation of draft papers for meetings, preparation of minutes and action items.
- Manage the internal audit function for the Authority, including preparing the internal audit program.
- Manage the preparation of the Authority Corporate Plan and Annual report each year.
- Coordinate the preparation of the Authority performance measures with the Manager and Special Projects including preparation of the annual performance statement and Audit and Risk committee assurance letter.
- Manage the corporate fraud control function, including regular review and maintenance of the Fraud Control Plan.
- Review and maintain the corporate calendar for the team.
- Contribute to statutory reporting including the annual fraud survey as required.
- Perform other duties for the team as required.

**What you'll need to succeed**

To be successful in this position, you will have previous experience in a similar position and the Federal Government. You will also have excellent communication skills both written and verbal, the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, high level of attention to detail, the ability to work independently and as a team, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, the ability to use initiative and manage competing priorities.
