**About the role**:
This role contributes to the success of the City by providing leadership, strategic direction, staff and operational coordination for community programs, primarily in the areas of
Youth, Children & Families, Multicultural, Citizenship, Aboriginal and Community Inclusion and Equity.

Role accountabilities include:

- Develop and implement the strategic direction of Youth, Aboriginal, Multicultural,
Citizenship, Social Inclusion and Children and Families programs, with a focus on
engaging the relevant sectors of the community.
- Develop and maintain strong networks with key stakeholders including relevant
community sector organisations, businesses, relevant government departments,
education providers and internal council departments for the purpose of furthering the City of Hobart’s inclusion and equity objectives.
- Work in collaboration with all staff in the Community Programs Unit across various
program areas to provide a cohesive and inclusive response, identifying strengths and addressing concerns of the Hobart community.

**About you**:
Are you passionate about creating a more inclusive and diverse city for all?

Do you have the skills and experience to lead and manage a range of programs that support the needs and aspirations of different communities?
- Degree in Community Development, Communications, Project Management; or
- Similar coupled with experience in staff supervision, training and development; or
- Demonstrated practical competence acquired through several years of experience.
- Current Registration to Work with Vulnerable People.
