**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Monitoring Regulatory Developments**: Staying abreast of changes in energy regulations, legislation, and industry trends, the Energy Regulatory Advisor will provide timely analysis and insights to internal stakeholders.
- **Strategic Policy Development**: Collaborating with senior management to develop and implement strategies to influence regulatory policies and frameworks in alignment with the organisation's objectives.
- **Stakeholder Engagement**: Building and maintaining effective relationships with regulatory bodies, industry associations, and other stakeholders to represent the organisation's interests and promote positive outcomes.
- **Risk Management**: Assessing the regulatory risks and impacts associated with business operations, providing recommendations and implementing measures to ensure compliance and mitigate risks effectively.
- **Regulatory Compliance**: Ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements across all aspects of the organisation's operations, providing guidance and support to relevant teams to uphold compliance standards.
- **Advocacy and Representation**: Representing the organisation in regulatory proceedings, consultations, and industry forums, advocating for policies and initiatives that support the organisation's strategic objectives.
- **Internal Collaboration**: Working collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including Legal, Operations, and Government Relations, to address regulatory challenges and opportunities, driving alignment and coherence in regulatory strategies.
- **Industry Research and Analysis**: Conducting comprehensive research and analysis on industry best practices, emerging trends, and regulatory developments to inform decision-making and strategy development.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor's degree in Law, Economics, Business, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
- Extensive experience in energy regulation or a related field, with a thorough understanding of Australian regulatory frameworks and processes.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements and assess their impact on the business.
- Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels.
- Proven track record of successfully managing regulatory compliance and advocacy initiatives.
- Strategic mindset, with the ability to develop and implement innovative regulatory strategies to achieve business objectives.
- Sound judgment and decision-making abilities, with a focus on driving positive outcomes for the organisation.
