The role

As part of our Corporate group, the Contracts Manager will play a key role in providing a pro-active and timely commercial service to both internal and external customers. This will entail being an active member of the Saab Commercial Team and undertaking contractual management of projects within both our Defence and Civil business divisions.
- Undertake contractual management of projects to maximise commercial outcomes and performance including advice on escalations, extensions, variations, and payments;
- Identify and manage commercial risks
- Manage and maintain positive relationships with key internal and external customers
- Lead negotiations with customers, subcontractors and suppliers relating to contractual issues, teaming arrangements, licensing arrangements and confidentiality agreements to deliver appropriate commercial outcomes.
- Provide commercial advice to project and tender teams ensuring that key commercial, legal and contractual issues are dealt with in an effective and efficient manner.
- As part of tender and proposals teams, take a proactive role in commercial, legal and contractual matters including the preparation of tender and contract documentation and statements of compliance.
- Flexible work arrangements such as hybrid work from home / office and 9 day fortnight will be considered for this role. We are also open to this role being based from our Adelaide, Melbourne or Brisbane offices. _

About you
- Your skills and experience will include:_
- Tertiary Qualifications in relevant discipline (eg Accounting, Law, Business or Commerce).
- Demonstrated experience in a contract management (or equivalent) role, and an excellent working knowledge of contract management processes and techniques.
- Working knowledge of contracting and procurement processes in an engineering, project management or defence environment.
- A sound understanding of principles of contract law.
- Experience in a commercial environment including contract preparation, negotiation, administration and management of contractual relationships.

As Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain an NV1 clearance.
