Screening Accreditor
**About us**:
Accreditation Group, part of CW Aviation Security Consulting (CW-ASC), assists the aviation, air cargo, and maritime industries meet their Australian Government security screener accreditation requirements in accordance with the Department of Home Affairs Cyber and Infrastructure Security Centre (CISC) Screener Accreditation Scheme.
What does that mean?
Security screeners (the people who screen air cargo or passenger and baggage at the airport or cruise ship terminal) need to be accredited annually to confirm they have the skills required to do their job.
Accreditation Group provides this accreditation service to the companies that provide these security screeners. These accreditations happen at airports, seaports, and cargo facilities around Australia.
Accreditation Group is growing and needs two casual Accreditors, one based in Brisbane and one in Melbourne.
**About the job**:
The role of an Accreditor is to travel to airports, seaports, or cargo facilities and administer accreditation tests on security screeners to determine whether they are competent to perform their screening roles. These visits can take between one day to one week to complete depending on the number of screeners to be accredited.
The Brisbane-based accreditor may be required to travel to ports around Queensland, and the Melbourne-based accreditor will cover Victoria and Tasmania.
Accreditors need specialised knowledge and understanding of security screening processes to effectively administer accreditation tests. This includes the ability to make decisions and use judgement in assessing screener capabilities, and to resolve issues that may arise during the administration of tests.
**About you**:
Experience in aviation, cargo or maritime security is essential. It is an Australian Government requirement that Accreditors can demonstrate Australian experience as either a screener or a trainer of screeners.
We are looking for people with five or more years of Australian aviation security experience as a screener, screening supervisor, screener trainer, aviation security auditor, or transport security inspector.
**If you’re already a qualified Accreditor, then we definitely want to hear from you.**
If you hold a workplace assessment qualification, we want to hear from you too. For example, a TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, a TAESS00015 Enterprise Trainer and Assessor Skill Set (statement of attainment), or a TAESS00011 Assessor Skill Set (statement of attainment)
Great Accreditors enjoy meeting new people, and have excellent written and verbal communication skills, as you spend your days interacting with screeners, supervisors, and managers. You will be the accreditation face of CW-ASC, so professionalism and the ability to build and maintain great client relationships is essential.
You will also need to be able to work independently, manage unexpected situations, and make independent decisions.
To become a qualified Accreditor, you need to undergo a background check, secure an Aviation or Maritime Security Identification Card (ASIC or MSIC), complete accreditor training, and complete accreditor refresher training every 24 months.
If you already have a current ASIC, excellent.
At the end of the day, we can train skills, but we can’t train attitude, so if you meet a lot of these requirements (but not all of them), and you have a demonstrated positive attitude, great work ethic, and the ability to learn, then we want to hear from you.
