**About the role**

Reporting to the Editor, the Deputy Editor, of _Better Homes and Gardens_ will work to achieve the best overall editorial and production outcomes for the magazine. You will support the editor, copy edit, manage production flow (if required), contribute to the magazine’s content, including writing and co-ordination of BHG TV decorating and projects plus supplementary material as required.

**Duties**
- Management of all editorial files for the brand.
- Work with editor and sub editor to provide cover lines and write (and rewrite, when necessary) arresting/clever/amusing heads, sells, intros, pickouts and captions to BHG style.
- Responsible for the writing and overall co-ordination of all TV decorating features and projects in BHG mag, liaising with the editor, creative director, BHGTV producers, researchers and in-house stylist.
- Work alongside the Editor and/or sales team to come up with ideas for features, sponsored content and assist where necessary in writing, researching or commissioning them.
- Liaise with digital team and supply content, including TV/mag content, when called upon. Assist in creating digital-led editorial opportunities within the magazine, when called upon.
- Commission and brief photographers, stylists and writers on stories and style, as required, adhering to editorial budget.

**Skills and experience**

5+ years editorial experience at a senior level. Demonstrated writing skills and sub-editing experience with a background in interiors, gardening, food and/or craft.
