**About the role**

Optus Sport is seeking a passionate sports journalist to join our team as Deputy Editor. This role is crucial in supporting the Optus Sport team plan, produce and position highly engaging editorial content for customers across multiple platforms. You will play a key role in identifying and capturing the true value of key sporting moments and bringing it to life editorially for our customers in an innovative and engaging way.

The role offers an exciting opportunity to create industry leading, authentic, fresh and quality written content - prioritising Optus Sport’s sporting properties (Premier League, LaLiga, FA WSL, J League, 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, and more). The role requires outstanding writing skills; a willingness to build and curate stories to be published via a CMS, as well as taking responsibility for headlines and promotion on social media and push notifications.

Working closely with the entire TV & Content division, including PR & Comms, this role would suit a football savvy content creator.

**About you**
- Validated experience in a similar role, within a Digital/Social newsroom
- Experience in a sporting organization, media, or broadcaster
- Editorial experience and demonstrated experience crafting the news agenda
- Excellent writing and storytelling skills
- Exceptional knowledge of elite European Football is highly desirable
- Understanding of digital and social best-practice
