**ABOUT THE ROLE**:

- Pivotal Senior Officer Position
- Full Time Fixed Term up to 12 months - great secondment opportunity

The Manager Community Health & Safety will hold a crucial position within the South Gippsland Shire Council's Senior Leadership Team. The role will lead and inspire a diverse team who are passionate about engaging and inspiring community partnerships.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic team in this temporary vacancy.

Responsibilities will include overseeing an extensive portfolio of projects and will lead largely field-based teams that travel across every corner of the Shire and cover a range of different services including Maternal & Child Health, Immunisation and Early Years support, Community Safety and Environmental Health.

**ABOUT YOU**:
Your ability to develop strong relationships and work collaboratively with key stakeholders will be vital to achieving our shared goals. We expect our new Manager to embody the qualities of a true leader, inspiring their team on the path of continual improvement.

Your qualifications and experience may include:

- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Environmental Health, Early Years Education or Community Services, or proven experience in senior roles demonstrating required competence.
- Experience at a senior management level in leading staff, planning work, making technical decisions, and optimising resource allocation.
- Sound understanding of the legislative framework and environment of local government, including the General Local Law.
- Demonstrated track record in achieving successful outcomes in community services, regulatory and/or environmental health fields.
