**THE ROLE**:
The Data Communications Officer (EL1) will work in the team responsible for delivering Austrade’s Data Front Door & Data Governance work program. This team is dedicated to support data users across Austrade and drive the development and implementation of data governance policies.

A key focus of the role is supporting Austrade’s Chief Data Officer (CDO) as a data advocate for the agency and uplift Austrade’s data maturity in accordance with the broader 2030 vision of the APS. The data landscape within Austrade and the APS is continually evolving, hence it is crucial keeping staff informed of new developments and effectively guide and manage change along each step of the agency’s data journey. The successful applicant will show initiative and actively identify opportunities where they can utilise their skills, ideas and experience to enhance communications on behalf of the branch. They will join a highly collaborative team environment and gain excellent exposure interacting across the whole agency.

**DUTIES INCLUDE**:

- Develop effective communication materials to raise awareness of data initiatives across the agency and broader APS to Austrade staff
- Develop training modules for the organisation to uplift Austrade’s collective data capability and assurance processes
- Support the Austrade Chief Data Officer (CDO) as a data champion, including driving change within Austrade to support evidence-based decision making and uplift data maturity
- Work with Austrade Communications team to develop an intranet presence for Economics and Data, including development of engaging branch content that can be used alongside the Data Front Door portal to support data needs of Austrade staff
- Assist the team draft key documents and presentations required by the Chief Data Officer (CDO) for executive level meetings
- Proactively build strong working relationships with other data areas across Austrade
- Commitment to fostering a data-driven culture and promoting data literacy
