**And now a bit about the Health & Wellness Team Leader role**:
Reporting to the Health and Wellness Manager, the Health & Wellness Team Leader will oversee a
team who are focused on increasing member satisfaction. As part of the broader leadership team, you will implement programs of work that directly and positively impact the experience of our large membership base across a variety of facilities including Gym, Pools and Group Fitness Classes.
We are looking for a strong leader who puts their own stamp on a positive workplace culture through carefully considered change management and courageous conversations. You will have the ability to provide leadership to the Health & Wellness team and bring them on your journey to maintain high levels of member satisfaction.
You will have a commercial mindset to proactively identify ways to drive revenue across the department and be the driving force behind retention strategies and initiatives; whilst building trust with all stakeholders, both internally and externally.
This is a full-time role and given that the facility is open across weekdays, evenings, and weekends, it
is essential that you are flexible in how you can structure your working week. There will be occasions where, as the Team Leader, you will be required to work early mornings, evenings and/or weekends. You will need to be adept at managing multiple projects and be able to manage an expansive team whilst remaining calm, professional and solutions focused.
**Key Responsibilities will include**:
- Lead the Health and Wellness team to ensure that the highest level of service is always maintained.
- Facilitate and coordinate training needs for the Health and Wellness team including gym floor staff, group fitness instructors and personal trainers.
- Provide high quality customer service to support members, prospective members, and casual patrons to achieve their health and wellness goals.
- Work with the gym, personal training, and group fitness teams to develop and implement systems that ensure that member’s needs are accommodated.
- Develop, maintain, and review the group fitness timetable each month and work with the Health and Wellness Manager to ensure that the timetable aligns with allocated budget.
- Assist the Health and Wellness Manager in developing policies and procedures specific to the Health and Wellness team.
- Manage staff in the Health and Wellness department by building the roster aligned to payroll for all gym floor staff, personal trainers and group fitness instructors as well as ensuring qualification compliance is always met.
- Monitor and provide regular reports, including but not limited to, class attendance, feedback, and member surveys.
- Work with our Memberships Lead in developing and understanding membership journeys and strategies to increase membership sales.

We are looking for a strong leader who can take charge and offer opinions and direction, driving and motivating the team to achieve exceptional customer service. A confident and engaging communicator, who can remain calm under pressure and work in a fast-paced environment. You must have strong conflict management skills and can direct co-workers, managers and group fitness instructors by telephone, written form and in person.
**Required skills**:
- Certificate III & IV in Fitness or relevant tertiary qualification
- Current CPR
- Provide First Aid
- Working with Children Check
- 3+ years’ experience in a managerial role within the health and wellness sector
- 3+ years’ experience in group fitness
- Strong communication skills
- Strong fitness prescription experience
- Strong computer skills including good knowledge in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Strong supervisory and conflict resolution skills
- Strong time management skills and an ability to manage competing priorities.
