**Research Associate/Research Fellow - The Kirby Institute**
- Employment Type: Full-time (35 hour week)

**Why Your Role Matters**:
As a Research Associate/Research Fellow, you will contribute to the research efforts of the NSW HIV Prevention Research Implementation Science Monitoring Partnership (PRISM), especially in implementation and evaluation projects on HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP). You will be responsible for the management and conduct of data collection processes for studies and use your experience to independently conduct analyses, contribute to reports on study data, prepare documents, and to provide strategic and tactical guidance on operational matters.

The role of Research Associate/Research Fellow reports to the Senior Research Fellow and has no direct reports.

**Who You Are**:
At a Level A specific skills and experience for this role include:

- Postgraduate qualifications (PhD or equivalent) in public health, epidemiology or another relevant field (e.g. psychology, sociology); or equivalent relevant experience in the conduct of public health research studies.
- Demonstrated experience in the conduct of public health research. Experience in research focusing on HIV, infectious diseases, evaluation of public health interventions, and/or implementation science is highly regarded.
- Demonstrated skills and experience in data management and quantitative analysis with a statistical package (e.g. Stata). Some experience in qualitative research will be highly regarded.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Evidence of ability to prioritise own workload, meet deadlines and to pay attention to detail.
- Demonstrated high level communication skills addressing a range of audiences and settings, including successful preparation and publication of peer-reviewed articles and reports for non-expert stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team, collaborate across disciplines, and build effective relationships with academic and non-academic stakeholders.

At Level B (in addition to the above)
- Demonstrated capacity to conduct independent research including ability in drafting and managing budgets, conceptualisation, direction, and implementation of research projects, and building collaborative networks.
- Demonstrated track record in research with outcomes of high quality and high impact with clear evidence of the desire and ability to continually achieve research excellence as well as the capacity for research leadership.
