**We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Clinical Coder to join our Corporate Services Team.**

**About the Role**:
This role reports to the Coding Operations Manager, Clinical Coding Service and is responsible for the timely and accurate assignment of ICD-10-AM, current edition codes for use in statistical analysis, epidemiology, hospital planning, research and auditing. It contributes to the assignment of Australian Refined Diagnosis Related Groups (AR-DRGs). Key **responsibilities** include:

- Proficiently translate narrative descriptions of diagnoses and procedures into valid, accurate, and complete ICD-10-AM codes that reflect the patient's clinical picture, reason for admission, and treatment provided.
- Ensure the correct allocation of Principal Diagnosis, secondary diagnoses, and procedures in accordance with the Australian Coding Standards, resulting in optimal AR-DRG assignment.
- Participating in regular audits to determine coding accuracy and standard of clinical documentation
