We are currently recruiting for our client who is an expanding, high tech manufacturing facility that uses the latest technology to produce Polyethylene (PE) pipe mainly for mining, irrigation, water, civil, electrical and telecommunications projects.

Due to growth within their industry they are now looking to recruit a **Plant Team Leader** who is responsible for the safety and productivity of all plant employees staffed on designated shifts. Reporting to the Production Manager, the Plant Team Leader is responsible for managing operations during their shift. Additionally, the Plant Team Leader position is accountable for ensuring that production scheduled for completion is executed in a timely manner and within all quality parameters.

The **P**lant Team Leader** will support the Production Manager to build a culture that has a strong Continuous Improvement and Operational Excellence. This is a permanent position working a rotating roster across day, afternoon and night shift.

Some of the key duties and responsibilities will be:

- Ensure the safety and productivity of all employees assigned to designated shift including yards persons
- Ensure all relevant standards, procedures and job instructions are followed
- Ensure all production processes meet standards and targets whilst following the production schedule
- Ensure products manufactured on shift conform to specification and samples are obtained for QA purposes
- Enable effective communication between management and operators
- Train new employees and coach existing employees
- Investigate and report all incidents (spills, accidents, poor performance, etc.)
- Suggest and implement cost saving ideas and proactively contribute to process improvement and problem solving
- Perform related duties as assigned or as the situation dictates

To be successful in this role, you’ll have:

- Min. 2 years in a Team Lead/Supervisor position
- Solid understanding of plant start-up and shut down procedures
- Methodical and systematic approach to all tasks
- Experience in Plastics manufacturing highly desired
- Experienced in driving continuous improvement culture
- Proven people leadership and change management experience with a collaborative and enabling approach
