**About the role**:
The Policy/Project Officer position will support the Family Violence Command to develop and coordinate policy and support projects on a range of key issues relating to Victoria Police's responses to family violence, sexual offences and child abuse. This includes responses and input to government submissions, legislative reforms, inquiries and reports. The position will also undertake and support projects that improve understanding of and responses to family violence, child abuse and sexual offences.

**Your duties will include**:

- Supporting the Family Violence Command in developing responses to reviews, commissions and inquiries relevant to sexual offences, child abuse and family violence.
- Providing authoritative advice to various stakeholders within the Command regarding legislative and corporate policy interpretations and options.
- Preparing briefings and submissions and undertaking research on behalf of the Family Violence Command for consideration by internal and external groups.
- Developing and maintaining positive working relationships, ongoing communication, consultation and successful negotiations with internal and external stakeholders.
- Conducting strategic research including the analysis and assessment of issues.
- Preparing and reviewing written materials including project plans, status reports and briefing papers.
- Undertaking specific projects that contribute to the Command's understanding of and improved responses to sexual offences, child abuse and family violence.

**As the successful applicant, you will have**:

- Proven experience in policy development, research, formulation and implementation based on organisational knowledge and understanding of current issues.
- Proven research and project management skills, knowledge and experience.
- Well-developed written and oral communication skills, with excellent attention to detail.
- Demonstrated experience in conducting research and analysis and the ability to provide authoritative and informed advice to key stakeholders.
- A contemporary understanding of the policy environment, and of the dynamics of family violence, sexual assault and child abuse will be highly regarded.

**Requirements and relevant information**:

- One (1) x full-time, ongoing position available.
- This position is located at Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands.
