**Role Description/Criteria**

**Year Level/Subject: Primary**

Mary Immaculate Primary School is a fabulous, small and growing school in the heart of Ivanhoe. As our School Vision states, we are '_a dynamic and caring community, committed to enacting our faith; inspiring, challenging and engaging lifelong learners_'.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated and motivated Learning Support Officer (LSO), who is passionate about supporting students with additional learning needs. The successful applicant will be required to work 25 hours per week, across Monday to Friday, and required to commence work on Monday 30 January, 2023.

The successful applicant will:

- be committed to the ethos and values of the Catholic school
- be committed to developing positive and constructive relationships with all members of the school community
- have the capacity and dispositions to work collaboratively with our teaching team
- be committed to ongoing professional learning and development
- contribute positively to our learning environment where all students are respected, engaged, supported and valued
- assist in developing curiosity, collaboration, creativity and critical thinking skills in our students
- under the direction of the Principal, Learning Diversity Leader and classroom teachers, implement strategies and programs that effectively cater for a diverse range of learning needs.

**Special Requirements**
- current Working With Children Check and National Police Check
- Certificate III or higher in Education Support is preferred
- recent experience in working with young students with disabilities or specific learning needs.
