Health & Safety Adviser Department of Parliamentary Services

**Salary**: $105,479 - $116,550

About the role
The Work Health Safety team is seeking an experienced Work Health and Safety Adviser who is passionate about influencing and driving a culture of safety through collaboration and the provision of specialist advice, consultancy, and guidance across all Parliamentary departments.
Working closely with teams across Parliament of Victoria, you will influence and drive a strong culture of learning through continuous improvement in all aspects related to health and safety including but not limited to:

- Leading and investigating WHS risks, hazards, and incidents
- Implementing initiatives, tools, and resources
- Administering the Incident Management System
- Developing and facilitating relevant training

About you

**To succeed in this role, you will bring**:

- Proven ability to influence and coach stakeholders to design and implement WHS safety programs that incorporate contemporary technology and practices.
- Sound understanding and experience working with various protective systems and processes including confined space access, working at heights, and personal protective equipment.
- Proven knowledge of psychosocial risk factors including their impact on employee well-being, and the ability to implement evidence-based interventions to prevent and mitigate psychosocial risks.
- Excellent communication skills (both orally and written), collaborative relationship building, negotiation skills, and the ability to write reports and correspondence including the ability to deliver presentations and facilitate training/workshops.
- A relevant qualification in Work Health and Safety or equivalent experience.
