We are a dynamic, hardworking team supporting the work of the Legislative Council in the NSW Parliament. This includes supporting the work of the Chamber and the numerous inquiries conducted by parliamentary committees, as well as coordinating events and visiting delegations.

The Legislative Council is the Upper House of the NSW Parliament. As a House of Review, it acts as a check and balance on the Executive Government. The Department of the Legislative Council supports the activities of the Upper House, including its sittings, committee inquiries, protocol and corporate responsibilities. It also undertakes communication and engagement activities to inform and educate the community, as well as key internal and external stakeholders.

The Department has three parts - the Procedure Office, the Corporate and Bicentenary (Black Rod) Office, and the Committee Office. The advertised roles are based in the Corporate and Bicentenary (Black Rod) Offices.

Department staff strive to provide exceptional services to our key stakeholders including the President of the Legislative Council, members and their staff, government agencies, participants in committee inquiries, members of the public and visitors to Parliament.

**About the position**

We are seeking highly motivated and efficient tour guides/administration officers to join our dynamic Chamber and Support team within the Bicentenary and Corporate (Black Rod) Office. The Chamber and Support team is responsible for delivering presentations and conducting role plays for a diverse range of groups, including primary and secondary school groups; providing support services in the Chamber on sitting days; acting as a first point of contact for visitors to the Legislative Council; and providing professional and informative reception service for both visitors and members.
