**About the role**:
As EPA’s Environmental Audit Officer, you'll provide specialist advice to internal and external stakeholders on the environmental audit system and contaminated land, conducting quality assurance reviews of environmental audit reports and preliminary risk screen assessments. Reporting to the Team Leader, Environmental Audit, you'll drive improvements in environmental audits, aligning with EPA's strategic priorities to prevent harm to the environment and human health.

**In this role you will**:
To be successful in this role you will be required to (not limited to):

- Manage and maintain the Environmental Audit program, ensuring compliance with regulations and timely delivery of audits.
- Develop and maintain policies and processes for appointing and managing Environmental Auditors.
- Implement quality assurance processes and maintain standard operating procedures for audit compliance.
- Provide scientific and technical support to the audit program, liaising with internal and external stakeholders.

- Holds relevant industry qualifications (e.g., degree in environmental or science areas).
- Demonstrated expertise in conducting contaminated land and groundwater assessments, coupled with the capability to review and critique audit reports effectively.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with a focus on accountability, transparency, and building enduring relationships.
- Track record of identifying quality assurance issues and implementing system enhancements.
- Exceptional proficiency in professional written and verbal communication.
