Pegasus Care is recruiting for committed team members with experience working with **Youth **to commence in July 2024. We will have casual opportunities for suitably qualified people who can provide therapeutic care for children/young people in out of home care **AND **prepared to commit to consistent rosters.

The work consists of supporting children/young people in residential care. Some of the children/young people may display challenging behaviours as a result of past trauma.

We are looking for committed people to actively engage with the children/young people and help them build individual capacity and empower them to lead enriched and meaningful lives,

This is a challenging role we are looking for applicants who
- Have **6 months full time paid experience** working with clients in a residential / out of home care setting. This experience should have been gained in Australia.
- Proven experience of supporting youth within crisis/trauma/child safety.
- Have the ability to engage with all different personalities to provide support and encouragement.
- Be able to manage challenging situations as they arise.
- Provide support with a model of care for best long-term client outcomes in co-operation with other care team members.
- Providing positive emotional support to clients.
- Implementation of specialized client care plans.
- Delivering on behavioural support plans and ensuring consistent approaches are taken in line with other workers for the specific client.
- Have outstanding interpersonal skills and able to work in a multi-disciplinary team.
- Willing to commit to a variety of different shifts (minimum 4 days/week over 24 hours)
- Willingness to travel to different locations as required.

**To be considered for the role YOU MUST HAVE the following ESSENTIAL CRITERIA**:

- A minimum qualification of Certificate IV in Community Services, Counselling, Case Work, Youth Work, Mental Health or related discipline.
- An Australian Drivers licence and own reliable transport.
- Comprehensive car insurance.
- Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
- Current Working with Children Check.
- National Police Check (less than six months old).
- First Aid/CPR Certificate.
- 100 points of ID.
- 2 relevant referee’s from your recent work history

Desirable

Experience in supporting children/young people in out of home care.

Disability/Mental Health experience.

Completed “Infection Control Training - Covid19” Certificate

**Job Type**: Casual

Pay: $40.26 - $41.53 per hour

- Afternoon shift
- Morning shift
- Night shift

- Shift work
