Camberwell, Australia Siena College Ltd Full time

**Role Description/Criteria**

Siena College was established in 1940 as an independent, Catholic school for girls in Years 7 to 12. The Dominican Sisters who founded the College built a school where young women could be inspired by the human person of Jesus Christ, follow their academic and cultural interests, believe in their potential and become passionate learners for life. Siena is a place where the diversity and unique gifts of the young women in our care are acknowledged and celebrated.

The Arts Traineeship is a vital addition to the Arts and Technology Faculty, working closely under the guidance of the Head of Arts and Technology. In this role, the Trainee will assist in supporting Years 7-12 Arts and Technology classes, maintaining storerooms, ordering and preparing materials, and organising purchase orders for excursions and curriculum needs. The Trainee’s presence in the Faculty is essential to ensure smooth operations, contributing actively to the educational environment while working toward a Certificate III/IV with ArtsReady.

**Key Responsibilities**: As an Arts Trainee, the primary responsibilities include assisting in daily classroom activities, ensuring the cleanliness and organisation of Art, Textile, and Drama storerooms, and preparing artwork for exhibitions while maintaining gallery spaces. Additionally, the Trainee will follow and uphold health and safety documentation and protocols as directed by the Head of Learning. Participation in College events, such as Masses, Feast days, official functions, and Faculty meetings, is also a core part of the role. The Trainee will complete all AFL ArtsReady requirements, including coursework and attending workshops throughout the year.

The Trainee is expected to adhere to all College policies and uphold the Child Safe Standards, maintaining a duty of care for student wellbeing. As part of the team, they are encouraged to foster positive and professional relationships with colleagues and actively support the College’s continuous improvement and Catholic, Dominican ethos. The Trainee will work within the Art Office but will not be left unsupervised in a teaching role.
