The Integrity, Information and Security Branch sits within the COO Division and is responsible for implementing activities that prevent, detect and deter fraud and promotes compliance within the DVA clients, service providers and staff communities. The Division also provides physical, information, personnel and cyber security to support the DVA’s business needs; whilst managing the DVA’s information assets and infrastructure.
The Security Team currently has an APS4 Security Administration Officer who is responsible for managing routine protective security services and enquiries, and operates under general direction from Senior Advisors and management. They are accountable for organising their day to day workflow, and exercise some discretion making decisions relating to their assigned areas of responsibility in accordance with procedures and standards; providing routine advice to business areas on Information, Personnel and Physical Security, and undertaking clerical and administrative support to operational and governance outcomes. This position provides operational support to the team whilst delivering essential frontline security services to DVA staff and contractors
**Duties**
- Administer the department’s security clearance requirements through AGSVA
- Administer the department’s building access control system to issue passes to new staff and contractors, and address building access issues for existing staff
- Assist ministerial and departmental staff with initiating and managing their security clearance process
- Triage the security inbox to ensure enquiries are addressed in a timely manner
- Source relevant and contemporaneous data to inform various reporting requirements
- Support the team in responding to security incidents involving veterans and their families
**Eligibility**
- Applicants must be an Australian citizen to apply.
- Successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a minimum Negative Vetting Level 1 security clearance.
**Notes**
This recruitment process is being used to fill an ongoing position.
A merit pool of suitable applicants may be created which may be used to fill future ongoing and non-ongoing vacancies should they become available over the next 18 months.
Where a non-ongoing position is offered, the role will be filled for a specified term of up to 18 months. A specified term may be extended up to a maximum period of 3 years.
