**The Opportunity**

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the Paediatric General Surgery Team as a **General Surgery Registrar** from 5th February 2024 to 2nd February 2025

Your initial rotation will be in the position General Surgery Registrar for a period of 12 months.
As per the SMOEA 2023, the total of employment with SA Health will be 3 years. Rotations following the initial12 month allocation will be determined in line with your training and SA Health's requirements. This may include transfer to other SA Health locations to perform work appropriate to classification, skills and capabilities.

As the Paediatric General Surgery Registrar you will rotate through a series of placements designed to provide wide exposure to emergency elective and ambulatory patient care, while contributing to the provision of clinical services to WCHN inpatients and outpatients. You will demonstrate a commitment to clinical teaching and participate in associated research projects. On occasions may provide paediatric surgery service to the Flinders Medical Centre (FMC) under Consultant supervision as required.

**About You**

To be successful in this role, you will have a minimum of 2 years satisfactory experience as an Intern/Resident Medical Officer in a recognised teaching hospital or equivalent overseas experience and training.

You will have a Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent and be registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with General Registration.

If you have a demonstrated commitment to providing a quality service to the patient, are able to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary setting and you can communicate, both verbally and in writing, to a wide range of people on a range of sensitive and complex issues, then this role is for you.
