The Cancer Institute NSW is the NSW Government’s cancer control agency, established to lessen the impact of cancer across the state.

**What you’ll be doing**
The Cancer Institute NSW runs an integrated smoking cessation service inclusive of the NSW Quitline and the iCanQuit digital ecosystem.
You will be expected to provide clinical leadership and expert smoking and vaping clinical advice for service delivery to consumers, carers and other health professionals; implement clinical governance and education initiatives that improve the capacity of staff and services to provide high quality smoking cessation care; and contribute to the development of policies, procedures, systems and quality improvement initiatives to promote alignment with the National Quitline Minimum Standards and ensure delivery of a quality, safe and contemporary service.
To be successful in this role you will have key capabilities that include effective communication and a commitment to customer service, as well as the ability to solve problems and manage change. You will have demonstrated experience in clinical leadership, smoking cessation and behavioural change counselling.

**Essential requirements**
- Tertiary qualifications in psychology, social work, or counselling, with eligibility for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or relevant professional body, and extensive clinical experience in counselling.
- Qualifications and/or demonstrated clinical supervision, teaching and facilitation skills.
- Confirmation of non-smoking/vaping status. National Quitline Minimum Standards state to be eligible to support this service all Quitline staff are required to be non-smokers, and former smokers must have been quit for at least six months.
- Demonstrated effective communication skills including verbal, written and interpersonal and information technology skills for service provision.
- Proven leadership experience and the ability to work effectively and collaboratively as part of the multidisciplinary team.
- Extensive knowledge and experience in addiction, behaviour change and/or smoking cessation and tobacco control, clinical policy development and audit requirements.
