**The Role**
We have an exciting opportunity for finance professionals to join our Guided Weapons and Explosive Ordnance (GWEO) - Finance Business Partner team within the Defence Finance Group (DFG).

We are looking for APS5 Financial Analysts to help us build our dynamic new team in supporting the new GWEO Group. Duties can include:

- Contribute to end of month processes, including evaluate and interrogate financial data to ensure the accuracy of financial information in reports and systems.
- Deliver budget and financial support, including coordination of budget preparation, financial performance monitoring and reporting in accordance with Defence policies and procedures.
- Prepare and provide advice on budget and financial matters to GWEO and DFG stakeholders.
- Research and contribute to the development of financial policies and procedures in compliance with relevant legislation and whole of government policies.
- Build and sustain effective relationships with stakeholders, our team and central DFG staff.

**About our Team**
We are establishing a DFG team to service the new GWEO Group, within the Department of Defence. We are an embedded finance team set to provide excellent budget and financial management services. We are establishing multiple teams that will provide support across acquisition, sustainment, reporting and managing approved and unapproved funding matters.

This is an opportunity to be a part of a finance team in its establishment, providing essential and strategic budget and financial services in a growth industry. You will be supported through on the job training and career progression within DFG and the Group which we service.
- Strong problem solving skills, self-starter, actively involved in the team.
- Be able to work independently, alongside providing support functions to managers and team members, and able to communicate and negotiate priorities to deliver high-quality outputs and meet set timeframes.
- The ability to effectively manage competing priorities and have a flexible approach to respond to emerging pressures.
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, in particular the demonstrated ability to prepare reports and brief managers.
- A willingness to share knowledge and support development within our team and across our stakeholders.
- Have good stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills, with internal and external stakeholders.
- An interest in developing and maintaining policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with Commonwealth Resource Management and Defence frameworks.
- Ability to investigate and identify alternative courses of actions to resolve budgeting and financial issues, provide evidence based advice and reporting.
