**About the role**

We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, and innovative Clinical Governance Advisor. The Clinical Governance Advisor reports to the Executive General Manager Quality & Clinical Excellence and has an enterprise-wide function and is responsible for consolidating clinical practices, providing Clinical advice, support to clinical leads across VMCH Services including Home Care, Residential services, Specialist disability Services and Community services.

The role involves analysing and developing appropriate strategies to improve clinical governance in line with the VMCH’s objectives and strategic goals. The Clinical governance advisor will work closely with clinical leads across each portfolio and other stakeholders to ensure that clinical practices are safe and effective and consistent with best practices.to oversee the delivery, evaluation, and continuous improvement of the Quality, Clinical and Practice Governance Framework ensuring robust systems which foster a high performing, compassionate culture, and enable staff to deliver safe, high-quality services to our community.

The successful applicant will play an important role in leading and supporting enterprise-wide developments and creating a culture of continuous improvement and clinical governance excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

- Review and consolidate clinical governance framework.
- Innovation projects on care and service delivery models i.e. palliative care and dementia care
- Commence and co-chair Clinical Governance forums as an enterprise-wide function.
- Assist in the develop and implementation of systems and procedures to ensure that clinical risk and quality management are addressed effectively.
- Monitor and review the effectiveness of clinical governance initiatives and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Investigate clinical incidents and develop strategies to reduce the risk of recurrence.
- Prepare reports and present findings at clinical governance meetings.
- analysing and developing appropriate strategies to improve clinical governance in line with the VMCH’s objectives and strategic goals. work closely with clinical leads across each portfolio and other stakeholders to ensure that clinical practices are safe and effective and consistent with best practices**_Working as part of a friendly and close-knit team, some areas of focus not limited to as follows will be to:_**
- Actively work with the VMCH Operations teams across homecare, residential care, retirement, disability and community services in relation to supporting the success of the team providing clinical governance framework and support.
- Maintain relevant knowledge and skills through attendance at seminars and participation in the staff development program.
- Support Executive General Manager Quality Clinical excellence

**Skills & experience**
- A bachelor’s degree in nursing (or equivalent) with current AHPRA registration
- 3+ years’ experience management experience in Aged Care Sector
- Detailed clinical knowledge relevant to Aged Care Service delivery, Homecare, NDIS, HSS, and the relevant national and state governments’ policies and funding models
- Ability to lead, direct and work as part of a management team.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate effectively and compassionately with residents, families, staff and volunteers.
- Demonstrated commitment to cultural diversity, equal employment opportunity and workplace health and safety appropriate to the level of the appointment.
- Strategic knowledge of the Aged Care and/or Disability sectors (Clinical knowledge & sector experience will be highly regarded);
- Working knowledge and experience in the aged care and/or disability regulatory environment and their legislative frameworks.
- Strong and developed networks within the aged care and/or disability sector with an ability and history of forward-looking and participating in planning future directions of organisations or a sector; and
- Working knowledge and experience of best practice quality management systems and risk management frameworks in an aged care and/or disability environment.
- Proven ability to analyse data and identify trends.
