**The Position**
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide vital support to the Emergency Department for the effective management of paediatric patients.
- Facilitate the referral and transport process for children transferred for inpatient care.
- Engage in a 7-day, 24-hour roster spanning Paediatrics and Level 5 Neonatology.
- Contribute to Continuous Quality Improvement activities and participate in auditing processes.
- Actively engage in ongoing training and meet continuing professional development requirements.
- Play a key role in teaching junior medical, nursing, and midwifery staff, as well as medical students.
- Rotate through various roles in the Department, including Ward Registrar duties in the Children’s Ward and Special Care Nursery.
- Perform neonatal examinations and oversee resident Medical Officers and midwives conducting such examinations.
- Attend the Labour Ward and Theatre during times when Neonatal assistance is required.
- Rotate through the Emergency Department to attend to paediatric patients.
- Participate in Paediatric and Neonatal Outpatient Clinics to manage new and review patients, under the guidance of Consultants.

**The Requirements**
- Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent, registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with General Registration.
- Compliance with appropriate immunisation requirements.
