**Principal Heritage Advisor - Compliance and Operations**

**Work Location: Perth based with Site Travel as required**:

- Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.

**Roster: 5:2 - **Monday to Friday, with ad hoc site travel.

The Principal of Heritage Compliance and Operations is responsible for providing strategic advice to the operational and corporate teams in relation to the proactive identification, management and monitoring of Fortescue's internal and external heritage compliance obligations. This includes developing and maintaining compliance-related procedures; developing a compliance register and schedule based on translation of the Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Management Plans into practical, sustainable actions; overseeing and facilitating infield compliance activities; design and delivery of stakeholder engagement and training; investigation of Heritage related incidents, including the development of corrective and preventative actions; and assisting /advising on day-to-day heritage compliance matters ensuring a consistent approach.

In anticipation of the new Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Act 2021, the Principal will provide expert advice and guidance to the Community and Government Group, ensuring the heritage management and compliance practice, procedure and policies meet the requirements of the new Act.

Additionally, the Principal may provide expert advice on the management of heritage sites and places that may require bespoke strategies, within the context of existing mining operations.
- Develop & implement a Zero Harm Compliance Strategy, as well as procedures and processes to meet compliance with heritage obligations arising from regulatory, Land Access Agreements and negotiated meeting outcomes.
- Develop and implement educational program to internal and external personnel on the criticality of heritage compliance and the processes used to ensure compliance.
- Oversee on-ground heritage non-compliance investigations, reporting through Fortescue’s Business Management System, and provide a detailed report
- Work collaboratively with Traditional Owners and regulator, reporting compliance against obligations
- Provide strategic advice on Risk Management for heritage matters.
- Assisting /advising on day-to-day heritage compliance matters ensuring a consistent approach.
