**About the role**:
John Holland's Rail and Transport business unit are currently looking to speak to Engineering Managers with demonstrated experience of delivering major and complex rail projects ($1 billion +) to join our NSW team.

The primary purpose of the role is to manage all engineering activities on a major upcoming project, providing key leadership during the bid phase, transitioning into delivery to successful completion both technically and commercially.

**Responsibilities of the role include**:

- Lead engineering activities across the project lifecycle.
- Lead engagement of design consultants to cover all design scope required, including specialists.
- Project manage the delivery of design to budget and programme
- Lead a significant team of design and engineering professioanls to aid in winning the bid and successfully delivering the project
- Develop and implement engineering processes and systems in line with contract and corporate requirements
- Liaise with clients, consultants, operators, subcontractors, suppliers to ensure smooth progress of design approval
- Manage technical spects of the interface between all designers engaged by JH, by other contracts designers and other parties to ensure an integrated design solution.
- Understand and be able to lead delivering SESA (systems engineering and safety assurance), DE (digital engineering), sustainability, design management, field engineering (quality inspections/ correction, temporary works, verifications/ validation) and commissioning and integration (commissioning plans. system and integarion tests, systems integration managment, safety case compilation) activities
- Ensure legislative, pre contract, head contract and commercial obligations are met
- Monitor performance of subordinates to ensure high standards of performance across the design team
- Ensure that estimates follow comapny performance
- Exhibit outstanding leadership in health, safety, environmental and risk management, compliance and auditing

**What we are looking for**:

- Demonstrated experience including design, field engineering and commissioning on major rail projects (ideally $1 billion +)
- Management of multidisciplinary rail engineering projects and projects teams
- Understanding of TAO requirements and NSW government processes
- Systems Engineering & Safety Assusrance knowledge including interface managment
- Full asset lifecycle undertanding including operation
- Management of engineering activites in all phases - design, construction, commissioning and interface management
- Contractual, legal, commercial, industrial relations and legislative compliance management
- Advanced engineering project management skills
- Advanced client and stakeholder managements skills
- Advanced leadership skills
