**Nursing Support Unit Opportunities**
**Registered Nurses/Endorsed Enrolled Nurses & Personal Care Workers**
**Permanent - Part/Full Time (minimum 40 - 80 hours per fortnight)**
**About the role**
NSU staff are required to work across all directorates; acute, sub-acute and residential aged care settings to fill staffing shortfalls and unplanned high activity demands.
NSU staff are required to work AM, PM and night duty shifts. NSU staff are required to input their shift requests into our electronic rostering system for review.
NSU allows you to enjoy the variety of working across all our directorates whilst maintaining a permanent position.
To be considered for this role you must be living in the Ballarat region.
- You will be required to provide 2 referees; one being your current manager and the second another manager / supervisor._
**Registered Nurses**:
Key Responsibilities
- Must have recent Acute nursing experience
- Caring for a diverse range of patients and residents in varied care settings
- Ability and willingness to provide high quality, direct care within scope of practice
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve positive, patient focussed outcomes
- Documentation and updating of care plans / patient records
- Provide accurate and timely communication with residents, visitors and staff at all levels within Grampians Health
- Ability to function within a team
- Participate in annual performance reviews
- Commitment to ongoing mandatory education
Skills and experience
- Minimum of 12 months experience as a Registered Nurse
- Registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA and hold a current Practicing Certificate
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check, or willingness to obtain
- Current Working with Children Check, or willingness to obtain
- Demonstrated clinical knowledge and skills, commensurate with experience
**Endorsed Enrolled Nurses**
Key Responsibilities
- Maintaining accurate availability in our electronic rostering system and accepting shifts based on availability
- Patient care for a diverse range of residents in varied care settings
- Participate in the provision of resident focused, holistic care
- Provide accurate and timely communication with the team regarding resident health status
- Documentation and updating of care plans
- Communication with residents, visitors and staff at all levels within Grampians Health
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve positive, resident focussed outcomes
- Participate in annual performance reviews
- Commitment to ongoing mandatory education
Skills and experience
- Registration as an Endorsed Enrolled Nurse with AHPRA and hold a current Practicing Certificate
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check, or willingness to obtain
- Current Working With Children Check, or willingness to obtain
- Demonstrated clinical knowledge and skills, commensurate with experience
**Personal Care Workers**
Key Responsibilities
- Maintaining accurate availability in our electronic rostering system and accepting shifts based on availability
- Assisting residents to meet their needs as defined by them in a variety of Care Community settings
- Provide resident focused and holistic care under the supervision of the Registered & Enrolled Nurses
- Accurate documentation of resident care and meeting of health service guidelines
- Ensure a clean and safe environment for residents, visitors and staff
- Provide resident focused service in relation to meals / food services
- Ability to function within a team
- Participate in annual performance reviews
- Commitment to ongoing mandatory education
Skills and experience
- Assist Clients With Medication Unit, desirable but not essential
- Current HLTFSE001 - Follow Basic Food Handling Practices certificate, or willingness to obtain
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check, or willingness to obtain
- Current Working with Children Check, or willingness to obtain
- Previous experience in a similar role would be preferred, but is not essential
