A rare opportunity exists for HR Adviser to join a newly formed team tasked with establishing the new Department of Government Services.
About us The Department of Government Services (DGS) was established on 1 January 2023 to improve everyone's experience of doing business and interacting with the Victorian government. We bring important day-to-day services together in one department to make things easy and seamless for Victorians and businesses. We are doing this by connecting and digitising our systems and platforms across state and local government as well as streamlining our corporate and procurement services.
About the role The HR Adviser is responsible for supporting the Senior HR Adviser and broader People and Culture team with the establishment and implementation of HR policies, processes and practices for the newly formed DGS.
About you To be considered for the role, you must be able to demonstrate:

- HR consultancy experience, with sound consultancy and negotiation skills to assist clients in clarifying needs, expectations and outcomes as well as providing advice in a timely manner.
- Sound understanding of relevant legislation, policies and procedures and contemporary developments in HR management, including the Fair Work Act.
- Exceptional interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

Other relevant information
The department is committed to providing and maintaining a working environment which is safe and without risk to the health of its employees and clients and consistent with the department's obligations under the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004 (OHS Act). To be able to meet the COVID-19 mandatory vaccination requirements and for DGS to meet its obligations under the OHS Act, DGS will request employees provide their vaccination information (including 3rd dose / booster) or evidence of an exemption throughout the recruitment process. Inability to provide this may impact your subsequent employment to the department.
