The Homes, Property & Development Group within Department of Planning and Environment (DPE) oversees the management of state government assets, including the management of Crown land, the NSW Government’s social housing portfolio and oversight of strategic use and disposal of government owned land. The Group also includes the Aboriginal Housing Office, the Valuer General and the Land and Housing Corporation.

The Group leverages public and private sector expertise to improve place-based outcomes, providing greater access and choice of housing through initiatives such as an end-to-end housing strategy, and improving outcomes for Aboriginal communities to maximise community benefit from government owned land and property.

**About the role**
Property and Development NSW is seeking to appoint a **Leasing Officer **to support and assist the Commercial Development and Management Commercial Leasing team (Leasing Team) to optimise outcomes for the tenant (i.e. PNSW, on behalf of Government Agencies and ultimately, the people of NSW). This is achieved via collaboration with PDNSW colleagues from the asset management and workplace accommodation strategy teams along with Government cluster representatives.

The Leasing Officer assists the Leasing Director and Senior Manager by providing accurate reporting, document management, collation of comparable rental evidence, and market and valuation reports to assist with decision making and commercial recommendations.

**About you**

You are an experienced commercial leasing professional with excellent stakeholder engagement skills who is well versed in both the private and public sector. You will also have significant experience negotiating Heads Of Agreements and leases.

I.T proficiency is highly desirable.

**Key Accountabilities include**:

- Assist in the management of all aspects in the execution of strategy relating to new premises that are either leased or sub-leased by government to deliver portfolio outcomes which achieve policy objectives in relation to utilisation rates, rental costs, vacancies, critical dates, standard lease take up, endorsed sustainability initiative and green lease principles.
- Act as an interface between the Leasing Team, Client Portfolio Management (CPM) and Government Agencies, providing advice and guidance to address operational issues.
- Coordinate securing all relevant approvals on new lease transactions including on-line digital (LAR/Salesforce) approvals in accordance with delegations, including the preparation of Ministerial Briefing Notes (if required) for new leases greater than ten years.
- Provide appropriate and accurate reporting and advice on the status of new lease transactions (including participation in leasing meetings) to allow the Leasing Team to undertake the effective management of new leases, lease tails, in situ lease expiries, short term extensions and sub-leasing.
- Act as a service provider liaison contact, including coordinating and managing the commissioning of any condition assessments, dilapidation reports or other third-party reports for new leases, to assist with handover to the Asset Management team in accordance with project handover checklist.
- Working collaboratively in a high performing team, interacting with internal and external stakeholders with the expectation of always delivering quality outputs and outstanding client service.

- Tertiary qualifications in a property or related discipline and/or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience.
- Ability to travel across NSW
