The Role
An opportunity has become available for a Fellow (Electrophysiology) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Be required to make a significant contribution to pre-procedure assessment and post-operative patient care
- Be responsible for assisting with regular audit of procedural outcomes and mortality and morbidity reviews
- Supervise training registrars and junior medical staff to ensure appropriate provision of patient care
- Contribute to the delivery of teaching medical students, registrars, and prevocational junior doctors within the hospital through scheduled weekly teaching sessions
About you
**To be successful in this position you will require**:
- Competency and recognised training in Cardiology including successful completion of Royal Advanced Training in Cardiology (RACP)
- Basic practical knowledge of cardiac electrophysiology and pacing and proficiency with peripheral vascular access techniques
- Experience in cardiovascular research
- Evidence of competency in speaking and communicating in English as demonstrated by having completed the International English Language Testing System (IELTS)
- Eligibility for registration in Australia
- AHPRA Registration
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (Chicken Pox), Pertussis (Whooping Cough), Hepatitis B and COVID 19
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed

Salary
- Temporary full time (up to 12 months)
- Base salary ranging from $149 777 - $164 569 per annum
About Us
The Cardiac Services at the Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service (GCHHS) is at CSCF Level 6, and includes two cardiology wards (42 beds), 10 bed CCU and 3 Cardiac Catheter Suites with one being an Electrophysiology Laboratory and the other 2 being Coronary and Structural Laboratories. The Electrophysiology Service commenced in 2016 and currently performs over 550 procedures yearly including 120 Electrophysiology procedures with access to complex 3D mapping, cryoballoon and pulsed field ablation. Based in Southport and Robina.
