**What you’ll do**
As the Executive Officer - Governance, Risk and Compliance, reporting to the Auditor-General and working closely with the Strategic Management Group, you will lead the governance, risk and compliance business unit.
You will drive an holistic approach integrating various sub-disciplines in the governance, risk and compliance space to ensure best practice across VAGO’s current delivery and future planning. You will plan, sponsor and deliver a range of initiatives in this space, whilst being the delegate of a small, self-managed team.
Key accountabilities include:
- Oversee and evaluate frameworks to effectively manage audit and business continuity requirements.
- Oversee the delivery of multiple governance projects.
- Demonstrate intellectual leadership by providing specialist advice that shapes VAGO policies, procedures and programs.
- Actively model VAGO’s vision and values, demonstrating innovation, respect, accountability and collaboration across all engagements within or external to our workforce.

- Tertiary qualifications in a field such as Governance, Project management, Business, Commerce, Accounting, Social Sciences, Public Policy or similar.
- Extensive experience at a senior level in governance, risk, and business improvement.
- Strong track record of problem solving and influencing decision making.
- Previous government experience at a senior level is highly desirable
**What else you need to know**
- When not working from home, this role is based at 35 Collins Street, Melbourne.
- Travel to various work locations throughout Victoria and Australia may be required.
