**About the Role**:
Somage Fine Foods has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Food
Production/Machine Operator to join our team based in Cheltenham, Victoria. Reporting tothe Production & Compliance Manager, you will be a crucial member of our productionteam, responsible for ensuring the efficiency of our production lines.
Your prime responsibilities include operating a variety of automated, semi-automated equipment, manual packing, blending, and batching, managing product changeovers with mínimal downtime, batching, blending, packing achieving daily production targets, and ensuring accurate completion of all daily production records and quality checks.

**The role will entail**:

- Setting up, operating, and monitoring machines during production.
- Organizing materials for processing and packaging.
- Conducting clean-downs of the production area and machines according to procedures.
- Identifying and reporting faults, as well as performing equipment preventative maintenance.
- Batch mixing ingredients.
- Manual duties such as packing tea, herbs and food powders
- Working on various production lines within our facility as required.
- Adhering to HACCP & GMP practices.
- Previous experience working as a blender or cook in an industrial environment (highly desirable).
- Knowledge or understanding of HACCP or GMP (highly preferred).
- Excellent personal presentation and strong communication skills.
- Physical fitness to work full-time on the production floor and handle product packaging.
- Forklift Licence (preferred)

**Ideal qualifications for this role**:

- Prior experience in a food production environment.
- High mechanical aptitude.
- Solid understanding of HACCP and GMP.
- Good communication skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Physical fitness to handle up to 25kg of weight.
- Experience with automation equipment such as bagging, mixing, case packing, multi-head weighing equipment, and ribbon blenders would be advantageous.
- High personal hygiene and quality standards.
- Ability to follow instructions, work well within a team, and independently.

This is an ongoing casual position with a possibility of permanent placement. The work schedule involves a fixed daily shift starting at 9 am and concluding at 5:30 pm.

**Job Type**: Casual

**Salary**: $24.59 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
