**Introduction**:
About the role

The Supportive Tenancy Service (STS) receives funding under the National Affordable Housing Agreement (NAHA) and/or the National Partnership Agreement of Homelessness, which are jointly funded by the ACT and Australian Governments. This position is responsible for providing direct support to people who are experiencing difficulties in their lives that may place their tenancies at risk or need to explore for other alternative options available. The service focuses on early intervention and prevention of eviction for tenants in public, community and private housing.

Key responsibilities

**Some of the key responsibilities are**:
Provide support to people experiencing tenancy stress, including providing information, outreach, advocacy and referrals, based on agreed goals and plans.
Promote the capacity of STS to identify and address tenancy issues through a community engagement approach.
Work with tenants and key partners to identify and address risk factors related to ACT tenancies.
Maintain up to date knowledge of issues faced by people experiencing tenancy stress.
Provide high quality case management support to clients.
Promote the program to relevant stakeholders, including service providers and the broader community.
Work within a consistent service practice across the partner organisations.
Maintain accurate tenant information, case notes and other relevant data and participate in reporting processes.

Essential skills, knowledge and experience

Diploma or higher qualifications in a human service-related field.
Demonstrated ability to engage with people experiencing complex issues.
Demonstrated ability to work within person-centred and strength-based frameworks.
Ability to establish and maintain service networks, make and receive referrals and work collaboratively across the program partnership.
Communication and high level of written skills.

**CRCS also requires all employees to**:
Hold or be willing to obtain a satisfactory Working with Vulnerable People registration (ACT) and/or a Working with Children Check (NSW), and have these with them at all times whilst employed by CRCS.
Undertake a National Criminal History Clearance by CRCS prior to commencing and every three years thereafter as a condition of employment. Employees are required to advise CRCS of any convictions that may effect their eligibility to work or perform the inherent requirements of their position
