**About the role**

Mater Research is searching for two experienced **Clinical Research Assistants** to join our IBD Clinical Trials Unit based at the South Brisbane campus. This is a full-time position offered as a maximum-term 12-month contract.

**Salary: $69,165 - $77,464 (MR Professional L5) p.a. plus super plus generous not-for-profit salary packaging available**

**What you’ll be doing**

As a Clinical Research Assistant, you will be providing high quality research assistance to support the implementation of clinical trials activity within the IBD clinical trials Research team to ensure the high quality and timeliness of Mater Clinical Research.

Key responsibilities will include:

- Assist with the preparation work for study visits including preparing the relevant forms, study packs and labels
- Provide financial management including preparing invoices for research study activities and preparation of regular reports
- Assist with scheduling of patient visits, site monitor visits, and unit meetings. This will include managing the shared calendars
- Aid in collection and processing of relevant patient samples as well as management of stored samples.
- Maintain the organisation of study documents including protocols, equipment and patient folders
- Perform periodic stocktake of existing materials including study kits and re-order as needed to replace supplies
- Leverage resources, expertise and knowledge to create implementation efficiencies
- Update information for the unit’s online presence
- Assist in the organising and running quality assurance activities in regard to collection, integrity and possible recovery of data
- Utilise appropriate resources and liaise with team members and clinical teams to clarify information as required, including correcting inaccurate or incomplete information
- Establishing databases as required for patient data entry. Maintain accurate and complete records.
- Ensure that all aspects of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) are complied with at all times through provision of training and on-going standard operating procedures development.

- Essential _
- Completion of a relevant undergraduate degree
- Good Clinical Practice certification or clear timeline to obtain this qualification
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team, and to independently establish work priorities, to set realistic goals and to meet deadlines
- Previous experience in a clinical or research environment
- Advanced computer skills in particular programs such as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Outlook
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills and an ability to consistently meet deadlines and commitments
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrated ability to interact effectively with staff across multiple functional areas and establish and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- A high degree of initiative, decision making ability, and highly developed negotiating skills

- Completion of post-graduate research experience of a research higher degree
- Experience in a clinical trials environment
- Practical database experience
