**The Opportunity**

The Internal Communications Lead is responsible for internal communications at Melton City Council working to enhance the employee experience. Reporting to the Communications Manager, you will play a critical role in transforming the employee experience through strategic internal communications and driving employee engagement initiatives. You will also facilitate the redevelopment of the Intranet and manage its future success.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Lead, manage and deliver the new intranet platform for Council and promote it to the organisation.
- Produce quality content for the intranet with a focus on clear, simple messaging across a range of channels and formats.
- Collate, record and report on internal communications activities, providing both qualitative and quantitative information to contribute to continuous improvement.
- Actively contribute to the strategic development and implementation of Council’s internal communications program and team culture.

**About you**

**_ To be successful in this role you will have the following:_**
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, in business or a relevant field minimum 5 years’ experience in similar roles, with specific certifications in change management such as Prosci. Alternatively, may have lesser formal qualifications together with extensive specialist experience in change management.
- Well-developed conceptual, analytical, strategic communication, and organisational skills to support identification and solutions to organisation-wide internal communication issues and opportunities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills particularly the ability to liaise with people at all levels of the organisation and gain their cooperation and trust.
- Commitment to active participation as a member of the team and to work cooperatively and collaboratively to achieve leading practice results.
