**The Opportunity**

As Coordinator Young Communities you will plan and coordinate quality services for young people in the City of Melton including service delivery, support and engagement activities, planning for infrastructure and provision of strategic advice and development of key stakeholder partnerships aligned to Council Strategic plans.

**Key Responsibilities**

Reporting to the Manager Community Care, the role will require leadership, support and direction to staff within the Young Communities team including the Development and Support, Projects and Engagement and Activation teams. You will embrace and enjoy working collaboratively with young people in the community, pursue stakeholder partnerships to ensure an integrated approach to quality community services including:

- Knowledge of social trends and innovative approaches to respond to community issues, particularly those impacting on young people.
- Well-developed community development-based skills and experience in working and engaging with young people and their families.
- Demonstrated skills in project development and management.

**About you**

**_ To be successful in this role you will have the following:_**
- Tertiary qualifications in family, youth and or community services with substantial experience or other formal qualifications with extensive and diverse experience.
- Demonstrated experience in managing staff, the ability to motivate, train, develop, direct, advise and support others.
- Demonstrated experience in coordination, budgeting and service delivery.
- Current valid Working with Children Check and Victorian Drivers Licence.
