**THE POSITION**

We are seeking a People Advisor to provide high quality human resource support to The Moreton Bay Colleges. The People Advisor is responsible for providing HR support and advice across both Colleges, The successful applicant will be involved in all facets of the employee life cycle.

The People Advisor reports to Director of People and Capability through the Senior People Advisor. All staff are employed by the CEO and Executive Principal of The Moreton Bay Colleges.

All staff need to be supportive of the values, Christian ethos and Ethical Statement of these Uniting Church Colleges.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- responsibilities of the People Advisor:_
- Provide sound, accurate and timely advice to key stakeholders in relation to staffing matters including the analysis and interpretation of legislation and other issues of significance.
- Provide advice to management and staff in matters relating to employee counselling or disciplinary procedures.
- Keep abreast of relevant IR and current employment legislation and provide advice on these matters.
- Compile relevant employment documentation including contracts, statements of service, and other employee requests where required.
- Provide management with costing and staffing information for workforce planning.
- Coordinate recruitment and selection process including advertisements, applicant screening, booking interviews, preparing interview packs, new starter packs and inducting new employees where required.
- HR Administration duties may include:

- Maintaining staff tracking within employee database and excel spreadsheets and streamline where possible;
- Electronic filing of employee records;
- Reviewing documentation, policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legislation.

10. Other responsibilities, as directed by the Line Manager:

- Actively support the partnership between MBC and MBBC.
- The need, at various times, to undertake work outside normal working hours for events.
- Willingness to undertake professional development, as required
- Other duties as directed, which are relevant to the nature of this position in supporting the Colleges’._

**SKILLS AND ABILITIES**
- The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required_
- Understanding of contemporary Human Resources issues and trends.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and ability to interpret Awards and Enterprise Agreements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise, and complete tasks in a timely manner.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong administrative and procedural skills.
- High level of computer literacy and proficiency in MS Office.
- Problem-solving and decision-making aptitude.
- Proactive and flexible approach.

**EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE**
- Tertiary qualifications in Business, Human Resources, and/or Employee Relations or a combination of qualifications and relevant experience.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working within a generalist Human Resources role.
- Experience within the education industry would be desirable.

**CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS**
- Working with Children Suitability Card or ability to acquire one, is essential.
- As work is undertaken at both Moreton Bay College and Moreton Bay Boy’s College a licence and own transport is required.

**WORK ENVIRONMENT**
- An office workspace and laptop is provided.
- Daily tasks are conducted anywhere within the Colleges.

**CONDITIONS AND SALARY**
- Full-time, permanent position.
- Salary and conditions are in keeping with the Moreton Bay College Enterprise Agreement (School Officer Level 5).
- The College contributes superannuation on behalf of the employee as per the Moreton Bay College Enterprise Agreement.
