This rewarding role does require a **degree in social work or mental health**. Add your empathetic, calm and approachable nature and you’ll spend your days guiding and empowering those who need it most, our children and young people.

As a Youth Advisor, your **passion, creativity, sense of humour and five or more years of experience** will be a valued addition to an already **amazing, dedicated team**. Matching your flexible and autonomous nature, you’ll join your colleagues in person **once a week in our office in Ryde**, then **work to your own schedule**, either from home, or on client visits.

A youth-focussed social services professional. You operate with positivity, compassion, drive, and flexibility. These are key qualities for this Youth Advisor. Blend these with the following attributes for an unbeatable combination:

- Experience in **providing psychosocial support and targeted intervention to young people**:

- Expertise in **connecting people with disability to the relevant agencies**:

- **Registration with a professional industry body** (AASW or APS)
- Clear written and verbal **communication skills**:

- An aptitude for **working autonomously**:

- A **current drivers’ licence** and comprehensively insured car

Reporting directly to a passionate and supportive CEO, your role entails:

- **Improving the mental health of children and young people** at risk of Huntington’s disease, or living with a family member affected
- **Delivering information sessions** to schools, parents and carers
- **Organising group events** to build connections and foster supportive relationships
- **Driving and leading** youth counselling sessions
- **Developing** effective, specific emotional coping strategies for children and young people
- **Contributing **to mandatory compliance audits and reporting requirements
