Design Draftsperson

Meka Recruitment are working with a leading Rigging Company and due to their increased workload they are looking for a senior Draftsperson to join their team in Toowoomba.

A Draftsperson is primarily responsible for producing technical drawings. They commonly use specialised computer software such as Computer-Aided Design (CAD) to do this. A draftsperson may work across a wide range of industries, meaning their daily duties may vary considerably from one field to the next, Use computer software such as CAD to produce 2D drawings and 3D models for architects, engineers and designers

**About the Role**
- Ensure that drawings and models are produced to scale
- Liaise with architects or designers to ensure their artistic, creative designs are present in the finished drawings
- Works part of a wider construction or engineering team to ensure that technical designs for buildings are practical, accurate and safe
- Survey construction sites and take accurate measurements
- Suggest materials for construction or manufacturing projects
- Produce technical guidelines and advise on a buildings dimensions or structural load
- Produce workflow diagrams for use in construction or manufacturing projects
- Create building schematics and electrical wiring layout for future archiving
- Produce technical manuals for future maintenance and repair needs
- Check plans, designs, drawings and blueprints for accuracy
- Provide updates to plans during the construction phase of a project
- Ensure that designs meet government regulations and adhere to company policies
- Ensure that designs are structurally sound and meet health and safety standards
- Have over 5 years’ experience as a draftspersons
- Excellent Communication skills
- Extensive experience using CAD software
- Great attention to detail
- Available for an immediate start

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Casual
Part-time hours: 38 per week

**Salary**: $59,676.59 - $75,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- 10 hour shift
- 12 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Overtime

Supplemental pay types:

- Overtime pay

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Toowoomba, QLD: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
