Who we are looking for

Based in Sydney, this role is open to applicants with a background in accounting to join a small Finance team that oversees accounting and regulatory support activity performed offshore. This role is ideal for someone with a background or interest in regulatory reporting and Global Market product accounting. Above all else, applicants with an eagerness to learn and develop their knowledge will be encouraged to apply.

This role can be performed in a hybrid model, where you can balance work from home and office to match your needs and role requirements.

What you will be responsible for

As Financial Accountant you will

Daily focus facilitating preparation and 1st line review of Regulatory reporting deliverables of monthly, quarterly, and adhoc regulator request.
- Working with a Bangalore based Regulatory Reporting team to ensure all APRA/ABS/RBA returns submitted on time and accurately
- Working with various teams to resolve defects and identify enhancements, supporting through process improvement and documentation
- Responding to information and data requests from APRA and other regulatory bodies
- Preparation of regulatory returns when needed. This includes workpaper creation, movement analysis, commentary etc.
- Monitoring branch entity daily performance, liaise with Treasury, FX and relevant stakeholders

Other tasks
- Assisting in reviewing month end Balance Sheet and Profit and Loss accounts
- Assisting in the preparation of statutory financial statements for group entities
- Assisting with the coordination of year-end deliverables with external auditors to provide all necessary information for audit purposes
- Assisting Financial Controller with adhoc tasks as required
- Involvement with transformation projects

- An understanding of Global Markets and Treasury would be helpful

Education & Preferred Qualifications
- CA/CPA qualified ideal but not essential.
