Senior Accountant - Importer and Distributor - CBD

Company Background

Our client is a multinational importer and distributor of a well-known household brand that enjoys a terrific reputation in their field. With a portfolio of desirable household products sold around the globe, coupled with their driven culture, our client is building a local enterprise that will be second to none. They have offices based in Sydney CBD and are looking to continue their growth in market share. This is a position that is well suited to an individual looking to play a significant role and make an impact. On offer is a competitive salary, job security and hybrid working arrangements. 

The Role

As a Senior Accountant, you will be working a standalone role that is broad and hands-on, overseeing all accounting activity for the Australian entity. Your duties will include (but not be limited to):

  • Month-end and year-end reporting 
  • Preparing statutory tax lodgments – GST, FBT, payroll tax 
  • Preparing the balance sheet, P&L, cash flow, analysis and variance reporting
  • Build business partner relationships with all managers and colleagues
  • Group intercompany reconciliations
  • Take ownership of the AP & AR & payroll functions 
  • Opportunity to set up new procedures to automate and optimise processes

Your Background

To be considered for this Senior Accountant role, you should have the following skills and attributes:

  • Professionally qualified as an Accountant (e.g., CA / CPA / ACCA or equivalent)
  • Proven experience preparing the month-end reporting and statutory requirements for an Australian entity
  • Experience working in a product-based industry (FMCG, retail, consumer durables or closely related)
  • Proven ability and willingness to work in a ‘hands-on’ capacity
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal along with a collaborative disposition
