**Role**:
Learning Specialists will be highly skilled classroom practitioners who continue to spend the majority of their time in the classroom delivering high-quality teaching and learning and have a range of responsibilities related to their expertise, including demonstration lessons, observing and providing feedback to other teachers and facilitating school-based professional learning.
- Learning Specialists are expected to have deep knowledge and expertise in high quality teaching and learning in delivering improved achievement, engagement and well-being for students.
- Working with and be a part of the school leadership team to develop a shared view of highly effective teacher practice and a review of existing programs and initiatives
- Leading and modelling the implementation of whole - school improvement strategies related to curriculum planning and delivery, and the support of others with strategies adopted.
- Playing a key role in the provision of professional learning, including through developing processes and protocols for observation and feedback of teacher practice and peer collaboration
- Modelling effective learning practice and supporting teachers to seek, analyse and act on feedback and on their practice

**Responsibilities**:

- Model High quality teaching and learning practice at all times and be in the classroom with teachers
- Be a proactive and visible leader of the classroom
- Develop staff capacity to implement differentiated teaching practices that promote student agency and inclusion in the classroom across the curriculum
- Lead professional learning related to the portfolio
- Leadership of the college Disability Inclusion program including management of the ES team (supported by the Assistant Principal/Leading Teacher)
- Use data to determine the needs of students and implement Tier 2 support programs
- Maintain accurate DI data records and documentation
- Inform College leadership on relevant programs and funding requirements
- Build a culture of inclusion across the whole school
- Ensure appropriate curriculum and pedagogical procedures have reasonable adjustments embedded in to meet diverse student needs
- Take account of current education research on the ways to personalise the learning opportunities through curriculum to meet their unique learning needs of our students
- Have high-level knowledge of ICT and the ways it can be used to enhance curriculum delivery, and be able to lead and implement programs.
- Use high-level knowledge of formative assessment and support the implementation of consistent formative assessment across classes and throughout the college.
- Facilitate information sessions for families
- Take an active role in supporting and managing the performance of staff to improve the quality of teaching and learning, through mentoring, collegial interaction and critical reflection on practice, feedback and data.
- Collaboratively develop and maintain the college professional learning calendar
- This role will work closely with the T&L team and the Transition and Pathways team
- Other duties as directed with the Principal
