**The role**

The Asset Information Officer provides support to the Senior Asset Information Officer to develop, document, participate in and improve processes associated with the recording, analysis and reporting of information about water and wastewater infrastructure. The incumbent is responsible for meeting Asset Management Information System (AMIS) users’ needs, resolving help desk requests and ensuring changes to our underlying asset base are reflected in our asset register.

The key accountability of the Asset Information Officer is to ensure our assets and works registers are continually updated to accurately support the changing nature of our asset base. Changes to our assets will arise from many sources and the Asset Information Officer will be accountable for improving and executing processes for updating our assets in response. They will also be accountable for guiding, interacting with and training colleagues across the organisation on these processes.

**What you’ll bring**
- A post-secondary technical qualification with some experience in a technical field.
- Knowledge and understanding of the lifecycle of infrastructure assets and asset management information systems.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and documents.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to balance competing priorities.

**Selection Criteria**
- An understanding of infrastructure asset lifecycle events and data typically captured against these events to drive asset management decision-making and management or regulatory reporting.
- Knowledge of high-level financial accounting principles associated with the management of infrastructure assets and the role of asset information in capitalisation, depreciation, revaluations or impairments.
- Demonstrated understanding of engineering drawings and ability to describe the nature of the infrastructure depicted on these drawings.
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships and communicate to a variety of audiences and ability to work well individually and in a team.
- Effective organisational skills, including the ability to balance competing priorities with a sense of timeliness.
