Overview:
The Project Lead - Aboriginal Workforce is a member of the Workforce Strategy Unit and is responsible for coordinating work within the Department for Health and Wellbeing (DHW) to implement and be accountable for the outcomes of a comprehensive range of projects within the Aboriginal Workforce division and SA Health.

This role brings significant Aboriginal workforce experience to develop, oversee, manage and evaluate projects (inclusive of programs and systems) to address inconsistencies between practice and policy, contributing to a safe and positive work culture in the interest of patient/client outcomes, and builds the capacity and capabilities of the program workforce.

The Project Lead - Aboriginal Workforce will:

- Coordinate the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of large -scale projects under Workforce Services
- Lead stakeholder engagement with Aboriginal workforce and Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations (ACCHO’s) to identify needs and determine program priorities.
- Participate in and support internal and external advisory groups/expert panels/working groups and committees as required.
- Contribute to the development and implementation within DHW, of State and National policies to address the retention and professional development of SA Health Aboriginal employees.
- Deliver program and project outcomes aligned to the review of the Aboriginal Health Practitioner Profession.

**Criminal History Screening Requirement**
- A National Police Certificate (NPC) for employment involving no contact with vulnerable groups is required for this position (general employment)

SA Health Services are required to implement the Addressing vaccine preventable disease: Occupational assessment, screening and vaccination policy in the workplace.

**Special Conditions**
- Must have an understanding of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Practitioner and Worker profession.
