**First Nations Outreach Programs Various Roles (Affirmative Measures)**

**The opportunity**:
The National Museum of Australia has three exciting opportunities for project and/or program professionals to join us in the newly created First Nations Outreach Programs unit. The roles include:

- Executive Level 1 - Manager, First Nations Outreach Programs
- APS 6 - Project Manager, First Nations Outreach Programs
- APS 5 - First Nations Outreach Programs Officer
- be experienced in building and maintaining high level relationships that achieve enduring partnerships, particularly with First Nations people.
- have resilience, an eye for detail and don’t get flustered when faced with competing priorities or difficult challenges.
- represent the Museum at internal and external forums and negotiate sensitively on a range of complex matters.
- be natural problem solvers, with strong people, project and/or program skills and are known for working collaboratively and seeing things through.

You will be able to work within the framework of the Museum’s First Nations Cultural Rights and Engagement policy as well as appropriate community engagement and cultural protocols.

**Eligibility**

The filling of this vacancy is intended to constitute an affirmative measure. The Affirmative Measure - Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Employment Provision, legislated under Section 31, allows agencies to identify a role as open only to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people and is within the meaning of special measures under subsection 8(1) of the Racial Discrimination Act 1975.
- be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent;
- identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander;
- are accepted by their community as being Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander;
- be an Australian citizen;
- undergo pre-employment checks, which includes a police records check.
