Our Team (Where You Will Be Working)
The Research and Evaluation (R&E) unit guides, coordinates, and undertakes research and evaluation activities across the QPS to develop new knowledge that informs the evidence base for improved organisational decision-making and service delivery.
R&E also provide research methodology advice and support to QPS members and the QPS Research Committee and work collaboratively with a range of internal and external stakeholders, including other government agencies, universities, and research institutes.

**Your key accountabilities**:
**The core capability requirements for this role are**:

- Lead and mentor a team to deliver high quality research and evaluation services relevant to policing and criminal justice.
- Lead the design, development and implementation of multiple significant research and evaluation projects and team members allocated to those projects.
- Provide methodological, analytical and research evaluation advice to QPS stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
- Provide high quality strategic advice and prepare high level research reports, submissions, briefing material, and correspondence. Reports may be required to be written or delivered as verbal briefings.
- Undertake insightful qualitative and quantitative data analysis focusing on policing and criminal justice.
- Implement research findings and devise innovative approaches to research and evaluation.
- Establish and enhance collaborative working relationships with internal and external networks and stakeholders.

**Qualification**:
While there are no mandatory qualifications required for this role, possession of a relevant degree level qualification with a significant focus on research and/or evaluation would be considered favourably.

**Technical/ Operational/ Educational experience**:
Experience in leading research and / or evaluations involving vulnerable persons or groups, including First Nations peoples would be advantageous.

**Other**:
Some inter and intrastate travel may be required for short periods.
